Every year (usually on Christmas night) we stuff our tree with wrapping paper and other Christmas garbage and light it on fire. Living in a subdivision makes this all the more exciting!
We have learned:
- Fresh trees don't burn as well as the ones bought from a lot.
- The expression, "Lights up like a Christmas tree" is very literal.
- The foolish traditions of our fathers -a dead tree with electrical wires all over it- is one that we will keep for some time!
Any recommendation for more fun Christmas traditions?

I think that's a great tradition!
That is hilarious! Should we talk about foolish fathers or brothers? We took down our tree yesterday and my good hubby kept all of our wrapping paper. We plan to copy a Mike/Kelly Thomas tradition and light up our tree tonight. Good times. ;)
Isn't it scary to see how fast those trees go up in flames! We have a tradition that everyone opens one present on Christmas Eve and it is new pajamas that we wear that night so we are all in new "jammies" for Christmas Morning. I also make these rolls that have to sit out all night (my mom did this) and that is our traditional Christmas breakfast.
