Detention

So, things are going really well for our family here in Payette.  We have an offer on a home, but it is a short sale.  They are not really short.  In the mean time we live in a two bedroom home that is a little crowded.

This being said: 

 It was no surprise that Kade and Halle 

each got a note sent home from school.  

As soon as Mike got home I said,

 "You guys better get your notes

 for your Dad to read!"

I prepared him a little by saying they got detention for fighting at recess.

(Hoping to soften the blow.)

Halle was straight faced and sullen.

Kade was giggly and smug.

That is when Mike threatened to 

make him run around the block 20 times.  

This was no laughing matter.  

How could they fight at school like that?

I intervened before punishment was made and told him to just read the notes.

After reading the notes

 Mike was a bit more giggly 

like Kade.

They each were student of the month.

By looking at their pictures I'm sure you're wondering how that happened:

I asked Makayla when she was going to be student of the month.

This was her reply, "Maybe if try to stay focused more and stay off the refocus wall, I can do it."

This made me worry a little, was my sweet Makayla in trouble a lot?

Everyday she told me about getting in trouble, just a little bit.

I asked her teacher and she said, "Makayla has never been in trouble, she is a sweetheart.  Usually on task and very smart, she is on track to be student of the month.  Sometimes she talks too much when she sits next to a certain boy."

Makayla has asked that I leave this certain boys name left unsaid! :)
