Disgusting vs. Rotten

I made crock pot chicken and the bones got left out over night.

The next morning I hear Makayla and Dallin arguing:
Dallin:  It's disgusting!
Makayla: NO, Its Rotten!
Dallin:  Mom said it's disgusting!
Makayla:  No sir it's ROTTEN!

They were both right, 
but here is maybe a better example of 

Disgusting vs. Rotten. 

This crock pot meal

 would have been 

disgusting

 had I not found it in time:

 While this little boy is
Rotten 

for making it! 

Please tell me that through those alligator tears you can see the 
Rottenness!
